The Alison Pilates team

ALISON ALEXANDER

Hi, I'm Alison, and I'm excited to welcome you to my Pilates Studio. Whether you're new or experienced with Pilates, I have a class for you. My classes are designed to cater to various fitness levels, ages, and specific needs.

My approach to teaching Pilates is rooted in a genuine passion for helping people improve their posture and well-being. I am a fully qualified Pilates practitioner with a Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Pilates, certified in Pilates Mat, Reformer, Barre, and Exercise for Older Adults. I am working on a Level 4 qualification in Pilates Mat Instruction with special populations courses in bone health and Pre and Post-natal.

As a teacher, I create a supportive and nurturing environment where everyone feels welcome and valued. I believe in the power of Pilates to transform not just our bodies but our overall sense of well-being. Therefore my classes are designed to help you feel better about yourself and how you manage your body, fostering physical and mental strength.

Ely Morgan

I love Pilates because I believe it is the best way to keep my body happy and active as I get older.  I always feel so good after practising Pilates and I have a passion for sharing that feeling with others.

I wanted the tools to be able to help anyone who walks into the studio, so I chose to train in Pilates Therapy.  In addition to the classical Pilates equipment and mat repertoire I learned more advanced biomechanics,  screening techniques and some manual therapy which I integrate into private sessions to help you achieve your movement goals.

I continue to enhance my knowledge base and have qualified in pre- and post-natal corrective exercise, completed a specialist pelvis course and am currently studying gait analysis.

Some recent examples:

  • A client who enjoys weightlifting wanted to improve her technique.  I worked with her on alignment, breathing and pressure management, pelvis and shoulder mechanics to help her lift bigger and more safely.

  • A client had suffered from severe sciatia and shoulder pain for many years and was fearful of movement. Years of physio, chiro and medical care had not improved things greatly, but after 10 weeks of working on movement fundamentals, breathing and relaxation techniques and strengthening, she has seen fantastic strength and mobility gains and has reduced her fear of triggering the sciatica.

A pregnant lady who had been diagnosed with an overactive pelvic floor has been working with me to help her work on releasing this and other techniques to prepare her body for childbirth, whilst also keeping fit with pre-natal Pilates.

Lisa White

Hello, I’m Lisa! I’m a recently qualified Reformer Pilates instructor as welI as a Mat Pilates instructor, of which I have a Level 3 Diploma. I come from a background in dance, and have been dancing since I can remember. I studied Professional Dance and Musical Theatre in London for 4 years, which then lead me to work as a professional performer on cruise ships for an additional 4 years.

Coming from a dancing background, Pilates has come very naturally to me. I have grown to love and enjoy the simplicity of it, and how anyone is able to do it! (With a little bit of hard work of course).

There are many benefits to Pilates such as gaining strength, improving both stamina and coordination, to helping develop better posture. I find it can help with everyday life, things as simple as walking the dog, picking things up from the floor or playing with the kids.

As Joseph Pilates said ‘Not only is health a normal condition, but it is our duty to not only to attain it but to maintain it.’

I’m very grateful to Pilates for keeping my body strong and fit which allows me to do all the activities I do! I look forward to gaining more experience as an instructor, as well as sharing my knowledge and passion for Pilates with you!
